" Crisis fuels an artist's soul "

IMG_7234.jpg

I am a career oriented woman, all my life since childhood I have been following my dreams and working towards my life goals everyday. I have always created things I love, travelled countries, seen culture and got inspired everyday.

Since childhood, we are taught to color inside the lines or else we are left behind. But as I grew up I realised there is no right way to make art. Art in itself is a process of experimentation and exploration. I love imperfections in art, it adds a touch of uniqueness and exclusivity to the creation.

I grew up watching my dad paint in an isolated room with a big easel and lots of paints and brushes. Those colours, patterns, papers used to fascinate me. For me, at that early age, art meant some oil pastels and a diary. Art was like my meditation—an escape from reality. I used to gaze at colours when I used to paint.

I grew up in Calcutta, India: this city is an absolute treat to a beholder’s eye. Its old colonial era buildings, the vintage windows, the wall posters injected a sense of aesthetic into my soul and made what I am today!
